Maerskfan/That Guy You Saw Earlier

My LEGO story

My obsession with lego started very early with the lego duplo train track sets. I loved making things like the path of the train, the station and the train. I played with this for many years until I was about 8 (?). I started liking the small lego early on too however I only liked small lego more than Lego duplo at about 7-8 years old. I remember the little building site and robot sets! One day I was asked by my grandparents what I would like for Christmas. I said that I would like the really big lego star wars ship (I couldn’t remember the name which was the millennium falcon). I got the star destroyer which was even better! That was when I realised bigger sets were better (or at least I thought!). That Christmas (or the next one I can’t remember) I got a Technic F1 Ferrari car. That was when I started liking Technic. Then a year ago I found Lego mindstorms. I asked my Grandad and he bought it for me. Then in 2012 I asked for another one. However when the new one arrived we found an NXT 1.0 set that was bought before! That’s why I have 3 NXT sets! In 2013 I didn’t feel that I was improving and had many more failures than sucesses so I tried out some system out. I ended up getting rather obsessed and bought loads of sets. I joined MOCpages that summer and have been building in my free time since then.

Kwon’s LEGO story

My lego story is little bit different to yours.
My first lego set was a lego train. It can move itself and also it follows the rail! I bought many small lego sets. Then I got lego mindstorms nxts from my father’s friend (for free) Wow! Next, two 9797 sets and one 9648 set. I bought lego technic 9398 rockcrawler too!

Webmaster4o’s LEGO story

My story is different, too. I never had Duplo. I think I was around 4 when I got my first lego set, in 2005. It was the 3181 passenger plane. There my obsession with lego began. My next set was the lego city 7631 dump truck. I have been collecting lego ever since. I had my eye on mindstorms ever since the 2.0 came out in August, 2009. At that point, I was eight, going to be nine in November. That Christmas, I got my first technic set, 8043 mobile crane. I didn’t get my Mindstorms till last Christmas, which is mainly because I don’t get allowance for the chores I do :( . Since then, I have been using all my building skills from my 8 years of lego experience. Unlike Kwon and Maerskfan, I have only one NXT, but I do have a PF battery box, XL motor, m-motor, lights, IR reciever, and speed remote, which help me in my creations. I have upwards of 90,000 lego elements, and counting. Major influences in my “career” include my parents, who have bought most of my $20,000 worth of lego, my grandparents, who often get me really “special” sets (ex 7946 kings castle), and my AWESOME twin sister Claire, who encourages me, works on brickfilms with me, and overall is awesome. Minor thanks go to Sammy, the dog.

JohnEatsCookies’ LEGO story

I became interested in Lego as a little kid at around 6 years of age. Building models later became too boring, so I decided to motorize my creations at about age 7. My first motorized set was the 4895 Motorized Helicopter set. I became increasingly interested with engineering and mechanics. So I began to design my own machines instead of following building instructions. When I was around 10 years of age, I began to abandon Lego, finding that there are better hobbies to be involved in, such as computer programming, or hacking. Much later when I had just turned 12, I rediscovered my old Lego sets and found lots of inspiration from the internet. So I began to build again, this time, more complex and sophisticated than anything I had ever built before, and ever since, I had been building Lego creations.

  1. Hey guys, this is DamonMM2000. You may know me from the MINDSTORMS gallery, ReBrick, MOCpages (I gave up on that site 😛 ), YouTube, and elsewhere. I was wondering if I could join your site and post my stuff too. It seems you could use a little more activity 😀 Thanks!
